Know before you schedule.
Contact the practice with questions about fees, payment options, insurance details, and your responsibilities before scheduling.

02Scheduling & insurance
Appointments are approximately 60 minutes. Clients may schedule as often as needed. New clients can request an appointment through the contact form. Existing clients can update paperwork, request appointments, and change schedules through the online client portal.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice and missed appointments incur a charge.
As of October 13, 2026, all providers are in-network with BCBS and Aetna. Accepted BCBS NC plans:
- Blue Advantage

- BCBS Blue Value
- Blue Options
- City of Charlotte Network

Plans differ, and a plan may not cover mental-health benefits. Before your first session, confirm coverage and financial obligations with the customer service number on your insurance card. You are responsible for deductibles, copays, and coinsurance due at the time of service. If your insurer denies coverage, you are responsible for the total amount.
Ask your insurer whether SweeneyPsych is covered, what your copayment and deductible are, whether the deductible has been met, and whether outpatient services require authorization or an authorization number.
03Good Faith Estimate
Under federal law, patients who do not have insurance or are not using insurance have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges for non-emergency care.
You may request an estimate from your provider and any other provider you choose before scheduling. Make sure you receive it in writing at least one business day before your service, and keep a copy or picture.
If your bill is substantially more than your Good Faith Estimate, you may have the right to dispute it. For information, visit cms.gov/no surprises or call 704-362-4041.
Payment, either in full or as a copayment when insurance coverage is established, is expected at the time of service.
